Katherine begins to examine Punzel.
Punzel is a tall, skinny lad who appears to be about 16 years of age,
with a widow's peak and curly black hair, close-cropped and
uncombed, and smooth, freckled skin. He has a high brow and thin
eyebrows, large grey eyes, a sharp nose, a firm mouth with thin
lips, fine cheeks, and a pointed chin. He is carrying two scrolls.
He is wearing white pants, a rosette, a pair of boots, a white cape,
a white gauze shirt, a black vest and a silver necklace.
Punzel says, "This castle seemed so threatening ... even now, it
often does ..."
Punzel says, "... I know not why I am here ..."
Punzel continues, "... or why ..."
Katherine says gently, "Not one of us does. You are not alone in that."
Punzel continues nervously, "I have always been tall, and thin ..."
Punzel glances at Katherine.
Katherine nods encouragingly.
Katherine begins to examine Katherine.
Katherine says, "I had to check. I am too, last I looked.
Quite thin in fact."
Katherine is a tall, willowy woman with with a full head of
silky silver hair, waist-length and combed, and alabaster skin.
She is carrying Katherine's scroll, Katherine's lily and
Katherine's scroll. She is wearing a wool gown, a cloak, a
bodice, a cap, a rosette and a pair of sandals.
Katherine nods encouragingly to Punzel.
Punzel whispers nervously, "Yes, you are thin ... you too could
probably easily disguise yourself ..."
Punzel glances nervously at Katherine.
Punzel enviously gazes at Katherine's waist-length silver hair.
Katherine pats Punzel's back.
Punzel glances nervously at Katherine.
Katherine nods, "It is okay, whatever it is. Right?"
Katherine glances at you questioningly.
Punzel asks, "Do you not understand me, sera?"
Punzel squirms nervously.
Katherine shakes her head.
Punzel sighs sadly.
Katherine asks hesitantly, "Do you want long hair?"
Punzel says, "I did have long hair, before I disguised myself ..."
Katherine asks hesitantly, "Because...because you are a young girl?"
Punzel nods nervously.
Punzel glances at Katherine.
Katherine nods.
Katherine sighs.
Katherine smiles at Punzel warmly.
Punzel explains, "I was afraid ..."
Punzel continues, "And later I heard tales of Ser Retribution's
treatment of women which led me to believe that my initial
fears had been justified ..."
Katherine hugs Punzel hesitantly.
Punzel blushes slightly.
Punzel says, "But ... now ... I have feelings for someone ..."
Katherine nods.
Punzel blushes.
Punzel stammers, "My question ... the question on which I seek
your counsel is ..."
Punzel says, "Should I tell him?"
Katherine nods thoughtfully, "That is a very good question. "
Punzel nods embarrassedly.
Katherine asks thoughtfully, "Does this person suspect at all
of your disguise?"
Punzel shakes her head.
Punzel sighs.
Punzel says, "I do not think so ..."
Katherine nods.
Punzel admits brightly, "But perhaps he does suspect ..."
Punzel smiles hopefully.
Katherine asks, "Hmmm. Have you ever hinted at this to him?"
Punzel admits, "No ... I become tongue-tied when he is near!"
Katherine smiles, "Actually that does not matter...what truly
matters is finding out if he is interested in anyone else first"
Punzel says, "And today I saw him kissing someone else!"
Katherine nods, "like that."
Punzel says, "I did see him this afternoon, kissing the woman who
has been such a source of trouble to good Watchman Philo ..."
Punzel sadly shakes her head.
Katherine asks, "Anastacia, right?"
Punzel nods sadly, "I can think only that he thinks to sacrifice
himself to preserve the peace."
Punzel insists, "I hear tell that Sera Anastacia is dangerously
unstable and irrational. A hero surely could not truly love
such a one as she!"
Katherine asks furtively, "Would you like me to speak to this
person in such a way as to find out if their heart is...engaged?"
Katherine nods, "She is unstable to say the least."
Punzel sadly rubs her close-cropped black hair, "But then I am
so ugly now that perhaps he could not love me either ..."
Punzel weeps quietly.
Katherine smiles tenderly at Punzel, "Nay, do not say you are
ugly, for you are not."
Punzel smiles sadly.
Katherine hugs Punzel comfortingly.
Punzel hesitantly hugs Katherine.
Katherine smiles reassuringly, "You and I...we could be sisters?"
Katherine adds, "In secret for now, of course."
Punzel nods happily.
Punzel says, "We are so close in age!"
Katherine nods.
Katherine asks, "Do you remember anything at all of before here?"
Punzel admits, "Very little ... a woman ... my mother? ...
singing ballads to me ..."
Katherine nods.
Punzel admits shyly, "That's why I wanted to write a poem."
Punzel smiles embarrassedly.
Katherine nods, "Because of your memory?"
Punzel nods.
Punzel says, "And because of your encouragement, sera."
Punzel smiles.
Katherine says gently, "Our memories, what is in our hearts and
minds, is what encourages any of us to write or sing."
Punzel says, "I think perhaps your poetry by the fireside helped
to inspire the memory ..."
Katherine blushes slightly.
Katherine adds, "And our experiences"
Katherine smiles shyly.
Punzel asks shyly, "So ..."
Katherine sighs.
Punzel continues, " ... um ..."
Punzel stammers, "... you said something about finding out ..."
Punzel blushes.
Katherine nods.
Katherine asks, "Your full name wouldn't be Repunzel by chance,
would it?"
Punzel shakes her head, "I know not where this name came from ..."
Katherine nods, "Not that it matters, but I thought it could
have helped you remember."
Punzel nods sadly.
Katherine replies to Punzel, "Yes, I would try to find out if this
person has their heart set elsewhere..."
Punzel asks, "Do you think I should approach him myself?"
Punzel insists, "He is the finest man I have ever seen, and he is
worth fighting for!"
Punzel blushes.
Katherine nods, "That would not be a bad idea. Were I to ask
him, he may mistake that I have interest in him. Whereas he
has to reason to suspect you of yet."
Katherine smiles.
Punzel nods understandingly.
Katherine suggests, "In that sense, you have already provided
yourself with the best alibi."
Punzel says, "Then I will ... I will ask him ... I'm not sure
what I will ask him ... but I will ask him ..."
Punzel blushes slightly.
Katherine nods thoughtfully.
Punzel smiles.
Katherine says, "I always like the roundabout approach, but
perhaps this person is very direct."
Punzel asks, "Why do you say so, sera?"
Katherine asks, "Would he appreciate someone out and out asking
him if his heart is with someone?"
Punzel says, "Hmmmm ... I know not ..."
Punzel says, "I have barely spoken to him ere this ..."
Katherine asks hesitantly, "May I ask who it is? Perhaps I
know him enough to give better advice for you."
Punzel blushes, "I would have thought you had guessed by now ..."
Katherine asks gently, "Nay, I have not. It isn't Ser Martel, is it?"
Punzel blushes intensely.
Punzel nods.
Katherine smiles.
Punzel blushes.
Katherine nods.
Punzel says, "He is everything good and heroic."
Punzel says, "He is so kind to me!"
Katherine agrees, "Yes, so I have seen. Unfortunately out of
all here, I think I know him the least."
Punzel nods sadly.
Punzel says, "I do thank you for all of your advice, though ..."
Punzel asserts, "I will approach him ... I will decide what to
ask ... and I will find the nerve!"
Katherine smiles warmly, "You are welcome. I am so happy you
trusted me to confide in."
Punzel insists warmly, "I knew you would keep my secret!"
Punzel smiles at Katherine.
Katherine nods, "In the end, you must do what you feel is best."
Punzel nods.
Katherine says, "Do not be afraid to make mistakes, if you are
willing to learn from them."
Punzel nods bravely.
Punzel apologizes, "I fear I have kept you to long, sera ..."
Katherine smiles at you, "That is quite allright."
Katherine says hesitantly, "But I do need to be going soon."
Katherine glances at the floor.
Katherine sighs.
Punzel nods.
Katherine says, "My time has been well spent tonight, if I have
helped you at all."
Punzel smiles, "Thank you again, Katherine ... may I call you
Katherine, rather than "sera"?"
Katherine replies warmly, "Yes, you may, if I may call you Punzel?"
Punzel nods enthusiastically.
Katherine smiles happily.
Punzel says, "I shall let you go ..."
Punzel says, "... but thank you again."
Katherine nods, "Do what you feel is right. Remember that."
Punzel admits, "It is a great help to have told someone ... a friend."
Punzel smiles gratefully.
Katherine reminds Punzel, "And do not forget that you have many
friends here."
