Today we join, becoming two as one --
Our lives entwined as in a lovers' knot --
To share our days until our days are done,
To share the pains and joys our lives have wrought.
Full often in my life afore I've fought
And walked a path that wandered far and wide,
Not knowing truly what it was I sought
Nor finding peace, no matter how I tried.
Then came this love which could not be denied
To conquer all, give shelter from life's pain --
And holding you, so gentle by my side,
I know I'll never want for peace again.
For this brings joy more great than e'er I knew,
This sweet eternal oath betwixt us two.

Does bind our hands, our paths, our hearts so strong,
For all my dearest dreams I see in you,
And know together we do e'er belong.
We stand today in solemn rite among
Our closest friends, those many who will share
Our lives and love as they have all along
And bolster our bond with their gentle care.
For all can see at center is a pair
Of souls enflamed by love and brought by fate
Unto a gift so precious and so rare:
Our hearts and souls have found their own true mate.
