Courtesy Circle Meeting:
The 24th of March
[Being an edited transcript of that event.]
The Lecture Hall: a place for gathering many people for
presentations or group discussions.
Punzel suggests, "Shall we start?"
[Lots of people nod and listen.]
Punzel says hesitantly, "First of all, I would like to apologize
for my hasty departure from the other meeting, and my
cancellation of last week's meeting. ..."
Punzel explains, "I have now changed my path, and believe that my
balance is in better health, and hope that such behavior will not
happen again. I believe I am more myself. And offer apologies."
[Lots of people smile.]
Punzel asks, "Does anyone have any questions of courtesy that
have arisen in recent days, or issues they hope to discuss?"
Anabeth says kindly to Punzel, "There have been a few who have
approached me, asking the proper procedure for persuing another
romatically"
Myrth flushes softly.
Watchman Gareth blushes at Anabeth.
Punzel nods slowly, "They want more information than is presented
in the guidelines already posted?"
Anabeth says kindly to Punzel, "It would seem they do not fully
understand them"
Punzel nods pensively.
Punzel asks, "Does anyone have any ideas about how we might make
the guidelines clearer?"
Punzel asks Anabeth, "Specifically what sorts of questions were
folk asking?"
Mauvais says to Anabeth deviously, " A swift pat on the
buttocks would be good advice i deem."
Punzel glances at Mauvais.
Anabeth glances at Mauvais.
Mauvais smiles.
Anabeth gasps, " oh my"
Punzel tells Mauvais, "If you cannot be polite, ser, I will
request that you leave."
Anabeth furrows her arched eyebrow.
Watchman Gareth says, "And the Watch will be glad to keep the
peace and polite tone of the meeting."
Punzel nods gratefully to Watchman Gareth.
Watchman Gareth glances meaningfully.
Watchman Gareth nods deferentially to you.
Robert nods to Watchman Gareth neutrally.
Anabeth says kindly to Punzel, "They were more along the lines of
how do i tell someone that i wish to press suit... or someone has
asked me if i will be theirs....what do i do... sorts of things"
Mauvais says to Punzel, " Politeness is that which i come to speak
about if i may at sometime during this meeting."
Punzel nods slowly to Anabeth.
Punzel tells Mauvais, "Ser, we are currently discussing folk's
questions about courtesy. When your time arises, you will have
your turn. In the meantime, please show others appropriate
respect."
Anabeth says, "and questions on proper tokens of affections"
Punzel nods pensively, "Mayhap we might discuss that, then, and I
can add it to the guidelines."
Drusilla suggests, "Perhaps some more information on betrothal?"
Punzel asks Drusilla, "What sort of information about betrothal?"
Mauvais says to Punzel, " Honesty is the highest form of respect."
Drusilla asks, "Well, some more information, such as some words
from an Acolyte...or Illiana?"
Drusilla glances at Mauvais, "Sometimes 'tis not, ser."
Punzel admits, "I do not think that is a courtesy issue. I think
that if folk want information about the procedure for marrying,
they shouuld contact those other folk."
Punzel adds, "And Illiana is, in fact, an Acolyte, sera."
Punzel smiles.
Drusilla blushes, "Oh, did I not say Acolyte?"
Drusilla smiles apologetically.
Watchman Gareth suggests, "For Sera Anabeth's query, mayhaps
the topic lends itself to the second article. How does one press a suit?
In that, a gentleman or a damosel might need to make a show of their
affections, as best they would deem sums their state of heart."
Punzel nods slowly, "Aye. Many folk seem unsure about how to
press suit. What advice would you all have for them?"
Watchman Gareth says, "First, I would suggest that it would be best
to press the matter in private, so that one party or the other might not
feel ashamed if the suit is pressed with only one's wish, or rejected
for some private reason that others should not hear."
[Lots of listening and nodding and agreeing.]
Avaria arrives through the west door.
Avaria leaves through the west door.
Watchman Gareth leaves through the west door.
Punzel blinks.
[Pretty much everyone glances at the west door.]
Anabeth raises her arched eyebrow.
Mauvais moves from a wooden seat to Drusilla.
Punzel asks, "Other suggestions?"
Punzel glances at Mauvais, Ravelyn, Kyle, Robert,
Anabeth, Chorus, Myrth and Drusilla.
Drusilla nods to Mauvais.
Watchman Gareth arrives through the west door.
Watchman Gareth blushes.
Myrth glances at Mauvais.
Mauvais grins at Drusilla.
Watchman Gareth sits down on a wooden seat.
[Lots of people smile at Gareth.]
Watchman Gareth says, "A public post in the lecture hall might
be made only if successful. Otherwise, much distress might be
caused -- even challenges offered!"
Anabeth says kindly, " perhaps, using more than common courtesy
towards the one whos affections are desired"
Drusilla nods slowly to Mauvais.
Myrth hugs Chorus amiably.
Punzel nods agreeingly, "Both good pieces of advice, I think."
Watchman Gareth nods to Anabeth.
Punzel requests, "Can we please have less whispering?"
Punzel sighs quietly.
Punzel says, "If folk are not interested in the topics of
discussion, they should feel free to go. But whispering
constantly shows a lack of respect."
Watchman Gareth suggests, "Mayhaps a sign or token might be
worn by one who desires a suit. To clearly express their desire."
Punzel asks Watchman Gareth uncertainly, "One who desires a suit?"
You hear a knock from the other side of the west door.
The west door is open.
Punzel glances at the west door.
Watchman Gareth nods to Punzel, "Exactly so -- either that they
desire to press a suit, or to receive one."
Punzel smiles slightly, "Why are so many folk knocking at open
doors these days?"
Anabeth says to Punzel, " how extra courteous"
Drusilla smiles bemusedly.
Mauvais asks to Punzel, "Politeness perhaps?"
Punzel says, "Politeness can be taken much too far, in my opinion.
Everyone bumping heads, bowing a thousand times. There is no
need for ridiculousness."
Cassandra arrives through the west door.
Watchman Gareth says, "There was a courier who himself was
presenting roses the other day to seras."
Punzel admits, "I see no reason for knocking at open doors. Folk
should feel free to enter."
Ravelyn adds, "Unless the door is shut."
Punzel chuckles, "Then it is not open."
Ravelyn finishes, "Which . . it wasn't."
Cassandra blushes.
Robert asks Watchman Gareth quietly, "Where was this courier?"
Watchman Gareth says, "Perhaps the rose or other bloom could be
worn to indicate that a suit is desired, and granted to one who is thy
heart's desire."
Watchman Gareth says to Robert, "He sought me out, in sooth! He
found me in the pantry."
Punzel nods slowly, "Obtaining such blooms might be difficult,
however. I think we should not set tasks for folk they may not
be able to perform."
[Lots of people nod.]
Myrth says, "I agree, and those whom have roses, might be mistaken.."
Watchman Gareth says, "It was but suggestive. Mayhaps a clearer
item, more common and yet distinguished."
Kyle asks Watchman Gareth, "like cheese?"
Punzel asks the lecture hall, "What think you all of asking
another to write a poem, expressing one's feelings? Is it
wrong? Or is it preferable to write one's own poem, even if it
is not as skilled?"
Punzel concludes, "Or is it acceptable?"
Watchman Gareth says, "Alternately, it was well known for a
damosel to drop her handkerchief at the feet of those whom she
desired to press suit towards her."
Kyle thinks, "I think your own would be best"
Anabeth says kindly to Watchman Gareth, " not all seras have
handkerchiefs"
Chorus smiles, "But everyone can get cheese."
Ravelyn smiles, "And those who do may not choose to flirt that
way."
Anabeth asks Watchman Gareth, " and what of the sers? what
would they drop?"
Watchman Gareth chuckles at Chorus.
Punzel admits, "I would not want to wear cheese."
Ravelyn smiles faintly.
Punzel grimaces slightly.
Drusilla grins at Chorus.
Anabeth nods agreeingly to Punzel.
Robert smiles slightly.
Cassandra glances at Punzel questioningly, "We have dropped the
custom of raising hands?"
Punzel tells Cassandra, "For right now, when speaking of a
specific topic, aye."
Punzel admits, "Though this seems to be ... drifting."
Watchman Gareth says to Anabeth, "Mayhaps they might have a
token that more befits them. I am raising the topic as to discuss,
but I would accept the thoughts of all."
Cassandra says carefully, "I see nothing wrong in employing a
skilled poet, as long as one does not pretend to author the
poem"
Watchman Gareth says, "I would always believe that a pledge of
faith and love on bended knee is acceptable from a gentleman."
Kyle asks Watchman Gareth, "what would be a benificial gift?"
Robert nods to Watchman Gareth slowly.
Drusilla suggests, "The item does not have to be one spesiffic
thing....the guidelines can just put up some suggestions."
Ravelyn asks the lecture hall, "Why can't a Ser or Sera who
wishes to press suit simply tell him or her so plainly?"
Anabeth asks Watchman Gareth, " for pressing suit?"
Punzel nods to Cassandra, "That is my own feeling, but I was
unsure about the general consensus. I would be honored to write
such poems to aid others' affections."
Myrth says, "Items may not be a good idea, because it may cause
confusion.."
Watchman Gareth smiles at Robert.
Punzel raises her hands, "Okay. Back to hands. This is becoming
too chaotic."
Punzel smiles ruefully.
Chorus nods to Ravelyn, "Love is complicated enough, why
confuse it more."
Anabeth says kindly to Ravelyn, " not all are that bold sera"
Ravelyn mutters softly, "They should be."
Cassandra nods agreeingly to Anabeth.
Anabeth gazes quietly at her hands.
Myrth grins at Ravelyn.
Punzel gently shushes at the lecture hall.
Punzel admits, "I think that setting one specific way to press
suit is not preferable, as there should be room for many
different personalities ... the shy and the bold, the writer
and the ... um ... cheese-carrier."
[Lots of people smile, chuckle, giggle, etc.]
Punzel asks Watchman Gareth, "Did you have a comment on this
topic? In fact, let us for now hold all questions on other
topics, and stay with this. When we are done, hands may be
raised on other topics."
Punzel asks, "Does that seem fair?"
Punzel glances at Cassandra, Ravelyn, Myrth, Watchman
Gareth, Mauvais, Kyle, Robert, Anabeth, Chorus and Drusilla.
[Lots of nodding.]
You hear a knock from the other side of the west door.
The west door is open.
Ravelyn sighs at the west door.
Punzel glances ruefully at the west door.
Punzel ignores the west door.
Punzel murmurs to herself, "If they cannot look to see that it
is open, that is their own problem."
Watchman Gareth says, "I believe this would be an excellent
topic for essays to explore the matter more fully. What would
be courteous, and what would assuredy not be so -- and those
matters that might be in some cases, and yet not in others."
Punzel nods slowly, "Essays on the topic of courteous courtship?"
Watchman Gareth says, "For instance, how to tell by thought of
thy love whether the match might be a good one or not. That is
oft lost and not thought of when a heart takes flight too swiftly.,"
[Lots of nodding.]
Punzel asks, "Are there other who might be interested in writing
on this topic? Or would it simply be the Watchman and myself?"
Punzel suggests, "I will post the question, and see if others
have thoughts to offer."
Drusilla asks gently, "If there were to be many essays on this
topic, perhaps I could collect them in a book?"
Drusilla says, "For the Library..."
Punzel nods agreeingly to Drusilla, "Aye. It would be good to
have a book of advice on courtship. I am sure that many would
find it useful."
Punzel says, "I will post the question, and open the topic to the
general public."
Watchman Gareth says, "Mayhaps some advice might be directed
towards sers, and others at seras. For oft do men's minds need
more -- ehm -- guidance on such topics."
Punzel nods slowly, "This can all be discussed in writing, I
think. Let us move on to sera Myrth's question or comment, as
she raised her hand on another topic some time ago."
Mauvais says, "I agree with Ravelyn that one should have enough
courage to state that which inhabits your heart and mind and
not rely on eye-candy to do your speaking for you."
Myrth says, "Well twas just.. erm, well I wrote something up on
the Bathing Courtesy.."
[Lots of blushing and smiling, which continues throughout the discussion.]
Punzel smiles gratefully to Myrth, "Would you like to lead a
discussion on that, then, sera? I think discussion of it is useful."
Myrth says, "It's nothing ill, and rather simple..."
Punzel nods encouragingly.
Myrth says, "I found it may be a large problem, but we can
easily accomodate everyone if people will just treat the
subject with courtesy....."
Myrth begins softly, "On the subject of bathing, I have
gathered a number of guidlines, suggested by the guests
themselves, that should help the greatest number of us."
Myrth continues, "One of the biggest things stressed to me was
reguarding the door to the baths. Reverting back to Door
Courtesy; If it's closed, knock. If you here a knock back,
leave the door be and may hap come back later as the occupant
does not be wish to be disturbed. If the door is opened, this
means the occupant does not mind an interuption. If there's no
answer, then it is usually safe to say no one is withen.
Granted if there is a real emergancy, then the door may be
opened."
Myrth says hesitantly, "Now, reguarding what is appropriate for
bathing..."
Myrth says, "On the way to the baths, even just between the
robing rooms and the bath door, a towel should be worn. Many
of us take two with us; particularly when in the company of a
member/s of the opposite gender. This is because many of us
often wear the first towel into the pool, and then remove it.
After bathing, the dry towel is worn. This protects the
modesty of all present."
Myrth says, "Socially, it is perfectly acceptable for both
genders to bath at the same time. Though many of us are leary
of this. Hence two pools. The green pool is generally thought
of as the ser's and the blue, the sera's. The walkway between
the two pools and the steam from the pools, is enough of a
shield as long as everyone behaves."
Myrth says, "For those of us who are modest: A towel worn into
the bath helps, and a friend posted at the door is often a
reasurrance. But if we can inform our fellow guests of the
proper behavior reguarding bathing and have some understanding
where modesty is concerned we should be able to lessen the
nervousness surrounding bathing considerably."
Myrth flushes shyly, "Well, tis a short write up, I do hope
-some- of it deems helpful.."
Cassandra says hesitantly, "I would suggest that some seras
might wish to wear a chemise into the pool also... especially
if members of the opposite sea are present"
Punzel nods agreeingly, "I always do that."
Punzel blushes slightly.
Anabeth nods agreeingly to Cassandra.
[Lots more blushing and smiling.]
Myrth nods, "I got several of those suggestions, hoever, a dark
colour is preferable..."
Drusilla nods to Myrth, "Black, I belive, is the best for
such."
Drusilla says, "I would *not* suggest white."
Punzel coughs embarrassedly.
Anabeth blushes furiously.
Myrth nods to Drusilla, "Water has a mind of its own when it
comes to spiriting with clothing and making us blush."
Watchman Gareth says quietly, "I would also suggest that the
baths are -- not a place where one with a heart of courtesy
should press their suit."
Punzel gasps.
Punzel blushes deeply.
Myrth flushes deeply, "Who.. does that...."
Ravelyn chokes.
Cassandra smiles approvingly at Watchman Gareth.
Drusilla nods agreeingly to Watchman Gareth.
Ravelyn smiles.
Watchman Gareth says, "Some have been incarcerated for Late
Night Frollicks."
Watchman Gareth says, "I shall not speak their name here."
[Lots more blushing and smiling.]
Mauvais exclaims, " I should add an epigram by one of the Watch
that relates to this matter: 'A jug of wine, a towel and anything goes!'"
Sliver blushes.
Anabeth blushes deeply, " oh my"
Watchman Gareth glances at Mauvais.
Punzel asks Mauvais quietly, "Please go, ser."
Ravelyn shushes at Mauvais.
Punzel gestures to the west door.
Watchman Gareth gazes coolly at Mauvais.
Punzel says, "Three disruptive comments is my limit, personally."
Myrth glances disapprovingly at Mauvais.
Cassandra frowns, "Who would write such a thing?"
Watchman Gareth says, "That was not well-said."
Mauvais says, " But i have much to add........"
Robert glances at Mauvais.
Ravelyn gazes warningly at Mauvais.
Punzel tells Mauvais, "Then you may send a scroll."
Drusilla glances at Mauvais.
Punzel insists, "Please, go."
Punzel gestures to the west door.
Watchman Gareth says softly, "Three..."
Mauvais says to Watchman Gareth, " Watchwoman Judith wrote it ser."
Mauvais smiles.
Punzel stands up on the floor.
Cassandra shakes her head sadly.
Watchman Gareth says softly, "Two..."
Robert glares at Mauvais.
Drusilla says to Mauvais, "I think your way of thinking...lies
far away from ours, ser. I think you best take leave."
Punzel watches Mauvais expectantly.
Watchman Gareth says softly, "One...."
Ravelyn gazes amusedly at the lecture hall.
Myrth nods agreeingly to Drusilla.
Mauvais says, "Very well....hmmmph"
Myrth moves from Chorus to Ravelyn.
Mauvais bows haughtily.
Mauvais leaves through the west door.
Punzel sighs quietly.
Watchman Gareth bows respectfully to Punzel.
Cassandra sighs, "The watchwoman oversteps herself..."
Punzel nods gratefully to Watchman Gareth, "I think the matter is
resolved. My thanks for your support, Watchman."
Robert nods to Watchman Gareth.
Watchman Gareth gazes reassuringly at you.
Watchman Gareth relaxes slowly.
Punzel distractedly touches her leg.
Cassandra smiles at Watchman Gareth.
Drusilla smiles thankfully at Watchman Gareth.
Punzel glances.
Anabeth smiles kindly at Watchman Gareth.
Punzel sits down on a simple table.
Watchman Gareth nods humbly at the lecture hall.
Punzel suggests, "Shall we continue?"
[Lots of nodding.]
Punzel tells Myrth gratefully, "Your report was extremely useful,
sera. Thank you so much for investigating the matter. I also
spoke briefly with the Lord Chamberlain on the topic of the baths."
Punzel explains, "There may eventually be a ruling about certain
days for women, and other days for men, ... but for now we
shall offer your guidelines, and I hope they will help folk to
be more comfortable."
Punzel smiles gladly.
Punzel blushes slightly, "And there would ... um ... always also
... be ... days ... when ..."
Punzel blushes brightly, "Well, when folk of both genders could
use the room at the same time."
Punzel admits embarrassedly, "I think that one day a week for
women only and one day a week for men only would satisfy the
most modest among us."
[Lots of nodding.]
Punzel asks, "Were there other issues folk hoped to discuss? Or
shall we continue on to courtesy in communication, and the
questions I had posted?"
Punzel glances at Myrth, Cassandra, Ravelyn, Watchman Gareth,
Robert, Anabeth, Chorus and Drusilla.
Ravelyn says quietly, " Back to concerning pressing suit . . .
I merely meant to say that there should be no formal necessity
to do so whatsoever... so long as it is done . . . tactfully"
Punzel asks Ravelyn uncertainly, "I am not sure what you mean,
sera. Could you expand on that?"
Ravelyn explains to the lecture hall, "If a Ser or Sera decides
to press suit, they should be polite and mature about it. But
trinkets dropped on the floor, flower pins... I do not believe
these contribute."
Watchman Gareth frowns slightly.
Chorus smiles kindly at Watchman Gareth.
Watchman Gareth listens.
Anabeth asks Ravelyn, " have you an example"
Punzel nods slowly, "I think that there should be a wide variety of
options for folk. Some may choose to behave in a way that would be
foreign to others ... I think a multitude of suggestions would be helpful."
Drusilla nods agreeingly to Punzel.
Watchman Gareth nods thankfully to Punzel.
Cassandra nods to Punzel, "Some might find it very touching"
Ravelyn shrugs, "As long as they aren't overamorous when they
know there is no mutual attraction, I agree with Sera Viola."
Ravelyn wrinkles her nose.
Punzel admits, "Martel only gave me one gift, and that after five
months of commitment and more than a month of betrothal. Not
all will take to the flower and poetry path. But others might like it."
Cassandra sighs, "If only flowers were not so rare"
Punzel nods slowly to Ravelyn, "You raise an interesting point,
however, about folk being overly amorous when they know not yet
whether the attraction is returned."
Punzel suggests, "Mayhap the request to press suit should proceed
any such ... offerings or proclamations? And that request could be
the opportunity for the two people in volved to understand each other
about whether the feelings were mutual?"
[Lots of nodding and smiling.]
Punzel asks pensively, "Is it ever appropriate for someone to
offer gifts to one they love, then, if the love is not returned?"
Watchman Gareth says, "Sometimes modesty is so great between
two people that e'en the name of Love might not be mentioned
betwixt them. And so, without word, the token stands as the Art
of their suit."
Punzel nods slowly, "I would think that 'love' would not need to
be mentioned at the stage of requesting to press suit. But ...
also ... not everyone needs follow the guidelines we have
suggested. They will not necessarily be best for everyone."
Punzel says, "There will be exceptions to every rule ... and even
more exceptions to every guideline."
Drusilla says, "If many essays on courting is written, they
will express many wiewpoints and options."
Watchman Gareth says, "And yet, it is all to one's heart -- or
should I say -- two -- of how to proceed is best. For how they
desire to press suit shall determine whether they are a goodly
match or no."
[Lots of nodding.]
Punzel asks, "Other thoughts?"
Robert asks quietly, "What about those cases where say...the
friends of the ser and sera are trying to convince them that
they need to be together"
Watchman Gareth says, "If it were not for such, I would not be
betrothed."
Punzel admits embarrassedly, "I believe many folk ... well ...
attempted to convince Martel that he should be with me, rather
than ... that other one."
Punzel smiles slightly, "I should thank them."
Punzel asks Robert uncertainly, "Exactly what question are you
asking? Whether such ... matchmaking is appropriate? Or how the
two folk involved should react?"
Robert says quietly, "How the two folk involved should
react...since I am myself a victim of matchmaking"
Robert smiles slightly.
Punzel asks concernedly, "Victim?"
Anabeth glances worriedly at Robert.
Punzel admits hesitantly, "I would think that one's response to
matchmaking friends would depend on the relationship with the
friends. ..."
Punzel asks uncertainly, "Does anyone have any thoughts on this?"
Cassandra says quietly, "One must be carefull.. the person you
try to help may not wish it..."
Cassandra sighs deeply.
Punzel admits, "I would think that one might courteously and
respectfully inform one's friends that one was not interested,
if such was the case."
Robert smiles slightly, "I know I bear no ill will to Margaret
and Jasmine for their own subtle nudges"
Myrth murmurs, "Any attempt with me has failed.. twas not
pleasant really.."
Punzel asks, "Any other thoughts on how to courteously deal with
matchmaking?"
Punzel asks, "Shall we move on, then? Or are there other
questions or comments about courtship?"
Cassandra says embarrassedly, "How does one deal with someone
who wants to press suit but knows that the other has already
accepted another?"
Punzel explains, "There is no harm in receiving suit from more
than one person, sera. It is only at the stage of official courting
that exclusivity is expected."
Cassandra nods thoughtfully.
Cassandra sighs deeply.
Punzel admits, "And I would think it discourteous to attempt to
disrupt a relationship that had already reached that stage."
Cassandra says timidly, "So one cannot have accepted a marriage
proposal?"
Punzel raises her pair of thin eyebrows.
Cassandra blushes deeply.
Anabeth glances curiously at Cassandra.
Chorus furrows her forehead.
Punzel asks hesitantly, "Become betrothed to one person, and
accept a request to press suit from someone else?"
Anabeth shakes her head subtly.
Punzel admits uncomfortably, "If all three people involved were ... informed
... and ... did not mind ... I suppose ... that would not be ... wrong."
Punzel blushes disapprovingly.
Cassandra murmurs, "One would have to break off the engagement"
Cassandra glances at Punzel.
Drusilla frowns disapprovingly.
Anabeth glances concernedly.
Cassandra sighs worriedly.
Punzel admits, "And I would think it extremely discourteous for
someone to ask to press suit when the person they were asking
was already betrothed. It shows a lack of respect for the solemnity
of betrothal and marrige."
Anabeth nods agreeingly to Punzel.
Drusilla nods agreeingly to Punzel.
Chorus nods affirmatively.
Punzel glances uncomfortably, "Any other questions or comments?"
Punzel suggests, "If we are finished with the topic of courtship,
I have one or two guild announcements to make. I fear we will
need to discuss courtesy in communication next time."
Anabeth nods agreeingly to Punzel.
Punzel explains, "The Friends of the Muse will need this room in
half a bell."
[Lots of nodding.]
Punzel announces, "This guild now has two members who have been
named Instructors of the guild: sera Illiana and sera Kiera. ..."
Punzel smiles gladly, "Instructors can lead meetings and teach
the introductory courtesy lectures, as well as being involved
also in the formal decisions of the guild."
Punzel says, "I am planning to ask Illiana and Kiera if either of
them would like to begin leading a second weekly meeting, for
those who are unable to come at this time. I know not if they
will be interested, but I plan to ask."
Punzel adds, "Sera Anabeth, the Assistant Guildmistress, also can
officially lead meetings and teach the etiquette classes, as well. But
we have not discussed such in detail."
Punzel smiles at Anabeth.
Anabeth nods to Punzel, " indeed"
Punzel suggests, "Any who are interested in becoming Instructors
in the guild should feel free to speak privately with me, or with sera
Anabeth, to let us know of your interest."
Consuela asks, "Before I express interest in becoming an
instructor, could I first express interest in becoming a
member?"
Punzel chuckles quietly.
Consuela smiles shyly.
Drusilla grins at Consuela.
Anabeth smiles kindly at Consuela.
Cassandra smiles at Consuela.
Punzel nods to Consuela, "If you hereby express interest in
joining, we will consider it official. If no one expresses an
objection to your becoming a member ... and I cannot imagine
that anyone would ... you will officially become a member at
next week's meeting."
[Lots of people smile at Consuela.]
Consuela glances shyly at Myrth, Punzel, Cassandra, Robert,
Anabeth, Chorus and Drusilla.
Consuela says hesitantly, "I would like to express interest in
joining, then."
Consuela asks, "May I?"
Punzel smiles warmly at Consuela, "Aye. If all goes as planned,
we will proclaim you a member next week."
Chorus smiles warmly at Punzel, "I would like to be a member also."
[Lots of people smile at Chorus.]
Jayland arrives through the west door.
Jayland bows to him, Myrth, Consuela, you, Cassandra, Robert,
Anabeth, Chorus and Drusilla.
Anabeth smiles kindly at Jayland.
Consuela smiles shyly at Jayland.
Cassandra glances at Jayland concernedly.
Jayland nods to Cassandra.
Punzel smiles warmly at Chorus, "Excellent. I will add both your
names to the official list, to give members a chance to comment,
and hope to see you both next week."
Cassandra bites her sensual lip nervously.
Punzel smiles warmly at Consuela.
Drusilla smiles brightly.
Jayland sits down next to Cassandra.
Punzel glances at the lecture hall, "Any more questions or
comments before we end the meeting?"
Jayland blinks.
Consuela blushes shyly at Jayland, Myrth, Punzel, Cassandra,
Robert, Anabeth, Chorus and Drusilla.
Cassandra blushes.
Jayland nods.
Consuela says, "Thank you all."
Myrth smiles warmly.
Anabeth smiles kindly.
Punzel suggests to Consuela, "You should read our charter, sera,
which is publicly posted. And mayhap the notes from previous
meetings."
Drusilla shakes her head.
Cassandra glances at Jayland worriedly.
Consuela smiles, "I already read the charter, sera Punzel."
Punzel smiles warmly, "Excellent."
Cassandra gazes sadly at Jayland's pair of blue eyes.
Consuela says shyly, "I've been correcting manners of people so
often, I thought I'd make it official."
Jayland glances worriedly to Cassandra.
Consuela smiles weakly.
Anabeth glances curiously.
Jayland cringes.
Drusilla grins at Consuela.
Jayland nods.
Jayland nods to Cassandra.
Punzel suggests, "If there are no further questions or comments,
then I shall declare the meeting ended."
Punzel stands up on the floor.
Jayland cringes.
Myrth sits down next to Chorus.
Chorus smiles sunnily at Myrth.
Punzel curtsies gracefully to the lecture hall, "Good eve, friends."
Jayland listens to Punzel.
Jayland blinks.
Anabeth smiles warmly at Punzel.
Consuela stands up next to Drusilla.
Cassandra stands up on the floor.
